Head Coach: Matt Hazell
Matt broke top and was the Best Speaker of the 2017 European Universities’ Debating Championships, and was Chief Adjudicator of the 2022 edition. He won the 2017-18 series of University Challenge, representing St John’s College, Cambridge.
Matt is currently the Deputy Head of Sixth Form at Ibstock Place School.
Team Manager: Beth Eades
Beth attended multiple editions of WUDC and EUDC as both a speaker and a judge, breaking as a judge at the 2015 edition. She has over a decade’s experience coaching in both independent and state schools, and wrote her MSc dissertation on using debating to teach evaluation skills at GCSE.
Beth is currently Head of Religious Studies at Repton School, Derbyshire.
